Twigo — Deleting Your Account
Last updated: 1 October 2026
You can delete your Twigo account at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to contact support first.
1. Delete Your Account in the App
- Open your profile.
- Tap the hamburger icon (☰).
- Tap Profile settings.
- Under Personal information, tap Account management.
- Tap Delete account, and confirm.
That is the whole route. The deletion starts as soon as you confirm it.
2. Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot reach the screen above — you have lost access to the account, the app will not open, or you would simply rather we did it — email apps@thetwigo.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it.
Write "Delete my account" in the subject line. If you cannot write from the address on the account, tell us the username instead and we will verify you another way before deleting anything. We will not delete an account on the word of someone we cannot connect to it.
3. What Happens When You Delete
- You can no longer sign in. Access ends immediately.
- Your profile stops being visible to anyone on Twigo, and your username is released.
- Your content is removed from Twigo — your videos, the debates you started, your comments and replies, and your votes.
- Your connections are severed — who you follow, who follows you, and anyone you had blocked.
- You are signed out everywhere. Every session on every device ends.
- Your activity history is purged — what you had watched, searched for, and been recommended.
4. What We Keep, and Why
Deleting an account is not the same as us holding no record that it existed. We keep:
- A record of the account itself, so that your username and email cannot be silently taken over by someone who would then appear to inherit your history.
- Anything we are required to keep for legal, security, backup, or fraud-prevention reasons.
- Content other people already have. If someone else shared, saved, or replied to something of yours, deleting your account does not reach the copy they hold.
How long we keep personal information after a deletion, and when we delete or de-identify it, is set out in Data Retention in our Privacy Policy. That section governs; this page describes the route, not a different promise.
5. If You Only Want Some of It Gone
You do not have to delete the whole account to remove something.
- A single video, debate, or comment can be deleted from the item itself, and the account stays.
- A copy of your data, or a correction to it, can be requested at apps@thetwigo.com — see Your Rights and Choices in the Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account is not reversible, so if one of these covers what you need, it is the better option.
