Twigo — Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 1 October 2026

1. Our Commitment

Twigo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexualization of minors, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any other conduct that endangers a child.

These Standards explain what we prohibit, how you can report it, what we do when we receive a report, and how to reach the person responsible for child safety at Twigo. They apply to everyone who uses Twigo, everywhere we operate, and they sit alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

2. Minimum Age

Twigo is not intended for anyone under 16 years old. We do not knowingly allow anyone below that age to create an account or to use the Service.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we remove the account and delete the personal information associated with it. If you believe someone below the minimum age is using Twigo, report the account in the app or write to apps@thetwigo.com.

3. Prohibited Conduct

The following is prohibited on Twigo without exception, whether in a video, a debate, a comment, a username, a profile, a link, or a direct message:

Our Terms already prohibit content that "is sexually explicit or pornographic, or sexualizes minors in any way". These Standards state what that means in practice and what happens when it is breached.

4. How to Report

In the app. Every piece of content on Twigo can be reported from the content itself. Choose the report option, then the reason that fits:

What you are reporting Where Reason to choose
A video the post Minor safety concern
An account the profile Underage user, or minor safety where the concern is abuse
A debate the debate Minor safety concern
A comment or reply the comment Minor safety concern

Reporting in the app is a reason and a tap; there is no form to fill in. If the concern needs explaining, email us instead — see below — and describe it in as much detail as you can.

You can also block the account, which removes their content from your feed immediately and hides yours from them. Blocking is independent of reporting: it takes effect at once, and it does not replace a report.

By email. For anything urgent, anything you cannot report in the app, or anything you would rather send directly, write to apps@thetwigo.com with "Child safety" in the subject line.

You do not need an account to report to us by email. Reports may be made anonymously, and you will never be shown to the person you reported.

5. How We Respond

Reports of child safety concerns are prioritised above all other reports and are reviewed by a person, not only by automated tooling.

When a report is substantiated we:

  1. Remove the content from Twigo, including copies and the cached versions our systems hold.
  2. Terminate the account responsible, and any other account we can attribute to the same person. This is not a warning-first category.
  3. Preserve the evidence — the content, account records, and associated technical data — for as long as we are required to, so that it is available to a lawful investigation even though the content is no longer public.
  4. Report to the authorities. We report apparent CSAE to the competent law enforcement authority, and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant national hotline where that applies to us.
  5. Cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and child protection organisations.

We do this whether or not the person who posted the content claims it was a joke, satire, art, or a mistake.

6. Preventing Abuse

7. Compliance With Law

We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including obligations to preserve and report apparent child sexual abuse material. Nothing in these Standards limits any obligation we have under applicable law, and nothing in them is required before you contact law enforcement yourself.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Reporting to us does not replace that, and we would rather you did both.

8. Point of Contact

Child safety reports, questions about these Standards, and requests from law enforcement or child protection organisations:

apps@thetwigo.com — subject line "Child safety"

We monitor this address and treat child safety correspondence as urgent.

9. Changes to These Standards

We may update these Standards. If we make material changes we will provide notice, for example in the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. The current version is always the one published at this page.
